History
Hero Bratt, Sr. born 1884, was a graduate of Holland Christian High School. He continued his education at Calvin College and at the University of Michigan. He was married ot Jennie and they had sons John, Hero, and Harvey and daughters, Albertha, Gertrude and Dorothy. Hero was a teacher and counselor at Holland Christian High School for 37 years and remained an active teacher in the community by speaking at churches and civic organizations after his retirement. He was an active member of the community as a member of the Holland Historical Society, the Holland Historical Trust, Evergreen Commons, the Herrick Library Board, Pillar Church and HASP. Mr. Bratt died due to accidental injuries in 1966.
