History
Jean HIll was best known as the Storyland Lady of WHTC in the 1950s. Jennette Herman was born to Carl and Katherine (Kolean) Herman on March 14, 1911, in Holland, MI. She attended Holland High School and was involved with the glee club. She married Richard F. Hill on September 1, 1937, in Waukazoo, Holland, MI. They had two children, William R. and Kathy. Jean had the Storyland show on WHTC ca. 1950. On the show she played the piano, sang, read letters from children audience members and read stories. Jean also sang solos in various churches in the Holland area. She lived at 151 W. 13th St. Jean worked as a music educator in various communities. She died peacefully in her sleep at the age on 99 on December 16, 2010. She is memorialized at Restlawn Memorial Gardens alongside her husband.
