Description
A red-covered scrapbook with a variety of news articles from the Holland Sentinel cut out and pasted in. One page is shown in this file. In the back folded up are the first sections of two Holland Evening Sentinels dated August 29, 1951 and July 25, 1952. There are also three articles typed by Randy Vande Water folded in the back: a feature story about Pvt. William M Bocks; an account of a Fifth Battalion football game; and an article about William Kersten from Logan, Iowa.
History
Randall P. "Randy" Vande Water was a local historian and newspaper editor. He spent 4 decades at the Holland Sentinel working as sports editor, city editor, editorial page editor, and managing editor.
