Description
Dutch coin, 5 cents, square-shaped with rounded edges. One side has a 5 with a banner or bead around it. The other side has an inscription that reads "Koningrijk Der Nederalanden." This means Kingdom of the Netherlands.  
History
This object was donated by Mr. Gerrit John Rutgers. He was born on May 12th, 1870 in Holland, Michigan. He was an active part of the community. His occupation was in farming all the way up until his death. He passed away on July 20th, 1942. He is currently buried in Graafschap Cemetery in Michigan. Most likely, he collected this coin and decided to keep it since it reminded him of his heritage.
