Jan Binnekant was born on 12-26-1809 in the Netherlands. He passed away in Holland, MI on 2-7-1876. Jan started the periodical De Verzamelaar (later De Hope) in 1862.Jan lost his printing business, J. Binnekant & Co., in the 1871 fire. After the fire he rebuilt his printing business.
