Donor is P.T. (Peter Theodore) Moerdyk, a resident of Zeeland, was born August 11, 1881. P.T. was president and co-owner of the Ted and Ed Clothing Company located on Main Street. After the store's demise in the mid 1930s Moerdyk did research for the WPA Historical Records Survey project which was headed locally by Willard C. Wichers. Moerdyk then worked for the Netherlands Museum in various capacities until his death on October 2, 1961. The City Directories of the 1950s list Moerdyk as the curator of the Netherlands Museum and Henry S. Lucas in his book Netherlanders In America, credits Moerdyk as the "Historian of the Netherlands Museum." Peter Theodore's wife's name was Alice K. Moerdyk.
