Signboard from the Alpena. Wooden signboard with the words "GOODRICH TRANSPORTATION CO.". Beneath this is the name "ALPENA".
History
The SS Alpena sank in Lake Michigan in 1880 while traveling from Grand Haven to Chicago. Within days, debris was washed ashore in Holland, MI, including a piano.
