Description
Black trunk with three slats along the top, running the length of the top.  On the front, the handles are missung.  Handles still attached to the sides though.
The top is hinged.  The outside of the trunk is edged with metal strips on the corners.
Inside the trunk, the lid has some red paper.  A white "tray" is removeable.
History
This trunk belonged to Martha May Hettie “Mary” Nichols Ogden, born in 1849 and died on February 18, 1929. Buried in Holland, MI in Lakeshore Cemetery.

She was born in in New York to Sandusky Nichols and Angeline (Stevens). She married Nelson Ogden, and their children are Edward Graham, Charles Monroe, Eugene Cecil, Clyde John, Arthur Leon, Maude Estell (Merrill), George Henry, and Eugenia C..

She brought the trunk with her from New York to Holland, MI in 1862.
