Description
Framed painting of the steamship Great Britain.
History
No local provenance. The accession records indicate that this painting came from Toronto, Canada. I don't believe the steam ship Great Britain ever visited Lake Michigan. Its home port was Bristol, England and it was in service up to 1886.
This probably should never have been accepted into the permanent collection. It is, however, a perfect fit for the Settler's House, given that the first resident of the house was a ship builder.
