WWII German, black leather flier's suit, 61" x 64", wool lining.
Worn by Holland resident Don Scholten. Don graduated from either Holland High or Holland Christian in June 1943. In December of that year, he enlisted in the US military (Army??). While in Europe, Don was taken prisoner and placed in a prisoner of war camp (POW) in Nazi Germany. He escaped from prison and found this flight suit and cap (1946.6.2) in a warehouse. To keep warm, he confiscated the suit and cap.
