Frank Pifer (1876-1955), brother-in-law to the donor Leonard De Vries, was a resident of Holland, MI for 50 years. Frank won the Class A Mile Championship in 1897 and 1898.The 1910, 1920 and 1930 US Census shows that Frank Pifer (1867-1955), son of Samuel Pifer (1831–1912) and Mary D. Sperry (1839–1900), lived in Holland, MI on West 12th Street with his wife Mamie.
