Pauel "Paul" Berghuis was born in the Netherlands in 1829. He arrived in the United States in 1848 with his father and siblings.Eilke (spelled Elike on headstone) was born in the Netherlands in 1832.
The US census from 1870, 1880, 1900 and 1910 show the couple living in Holland, MI and list Pauel's occupation as "farmer". Pauel and Eilke had two children: Willem and Pieter.
Pauel passed away in Holland, MI on 3-24-1913. Eilke passed in Holland, MI on 3-23-1914.
