Light tan, wicker sewing basket with handle. Green and pink floral pattern on the side. Green trim along top, bottom, left and right of the side of the basket.On the top, on one side, in red letters is the date "1867". Beneath the date is a green floral pattern. On the other side of the basket's top, in red, are the letters "JeD B. Ld". The same green floral pattern beneath the "1867" is seen beneath the letters.
History
This sewing basket belonged to the donor's grandmother, Jacoba de Bruijn (1846-1884) and mother, Lena Schuur (1874-1960). It is unclear what the letters on top (JeD B. Ld) stand for.Lena Konyndyk Schuur was a resident of Grand Rapids, MI and is buried there. It is uncertain where her mother Jacoba lived.
