Description
Framed painting of Ottawa Beach in 1938, signed by Olga De Lin in lower right corner.  Two trees appear in the foreground, at left, with yellow leaves on the sand.  Behind the trees, growing on hills of sand, green, red and orange plants are visible.  The sky is partly cloudy.  Some of the lake is visible in the center of the painting, on the right side.
History
Born in Mississippi, Olga lived in the Holland, MI area in 1930 and 1940 (US Census records) with her husband Martin.

Ottawa Beach is the name given to the area along the north side of the channel and northwest section of Lake Macatawa, in Park Township. It received its name in 1886 with the construction of the hotel Ottawa, built on a hillside near the beach.
