Replica of an log cabin, as it would have appeared in 1847 in Holland, MI. Model made in 1863 by Thomas Boven.
History
Thomas Boven (1849-1935) was born in Graafschap, MI on April 24, 1849 to Pieter Boven (1819-1888) and Zwaantje Ensing (1822–1890). He died in Holland, MI on June 18, 1935. Thomas was buried in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Thomas' siblings include Hendrik Boven (1851–1924); Roalfje Boven Mulder (1858–1917); and, Hattie Boven Ver Lee (1860–1917). Thomas married Clara De Frell (1850-1919) in Fillmore, MI on December 6, 1872.

Thomas was the donor’s maternal grandfather. The donor’s mother was Alida Boven Stoltz.
