Oval-shaped penny box with hinged lid, made of tin.
History
Objects in 1971.38 belonged to the Masselink family of Overisel, MI (1872-ca. 1902) and Zeeland, MI. (ca. 1902-1920).
Harm Masselink was born in Germany in 1841. He arrived in the US 1872 and settled in Overisel, Allegan Co., MI. He married Grace Benierman in 1871. They lived in Overisel for nearly 30 years before moving to Zeeland, MI.
The Masselink children included Garret Masselink (1872-1929), Ben Masselink (1873-1947) and Dr. John Masselink (1877-1943).
