Description
Heavy, brown, canvas tent bag; green attachment straps with 3 metal buckles; "R. Martin Base Hospital Unit 36 U.S. Army" in painted white letters, x2 on opposite edges;
History
This object belonged to Richard Martin (1894-1974). He came to Holland in 1921. For the next 40 years, many of them at E.E. Fell, Junior High, Richard taught mechanical drawing. He married Grace Crowell in 1919. Richard served 18 months in France during WWI. Richard was a member of the Holland Exchange Club and the local Masonic Lodge.
