The top has a white satin ribbon with a centered circle with a metal backed picture of a fireman descending a ladder with a baby in his arms. Sewn below the white ribbon is a red satin ribbon that says; "Fire Dept Eagle Hose Co. No. 1, Holland, Mich."History
John C. Dyke was born in Holland, MI on 11-21-1868 to Jacobus and Francina Dyke. He married Christiana Damson in Holland on 7-2-1895.John was a member of the Holland Fire Department, Eagle Hose Company No 1 from about 1894-1904. He also worked as a foreman for the Holland Furniture factory.
John played a role in the construction of Holland's city hall building on River Avenue. He passed away in Holland on 10-25-1919.
