Description
Letter carrier's jacket, dark blue with metal zipper in front.  Sleeves dark blue with burgundy braid at cuff.  Two brass buttons also appear on the cuff, each with the impression of a mail carrier and the letters "P.O.D." (for Post Office Department).
Round patch on left arm contains the likeness of a postal carrier on horse back.
History
This jacket was donated by the Holland, MI postmaster and is representative of what area mail carriers wore. However, it is unknown which mail carrier actually wore this jacket.
