Description
Brick of yellowish composition (clay?). On one side is stamped "RGPG" at each corner; center has a double circled logo depicting a cloaked man in one circle and an indeterminent design in the other; above this is stamped "medal,". below "1893." Brick is very heavy, slightly porous; corners are rounded and moderately glazed; one side is eroded with black (tar?) ground into it; gray paint on it here and there. s while he was on the city council.
History
Brick came with the story that it was an original paving brick from 8th Street.; 8th St. was first paved with bricks in 1903; donor received piece in 1960's-1970'
