Description
Red velvet and satin small hat with red veil. Fits tightly to back of head. Two triangular pieces, one satin, one velvet, fit at forehead. Other triangular pieces fit over supper ears. A bow of the satin and velvet with triangular point at the back finishes the back. Circa 1950's. No label.
History
Hat worn by Henrika Ver Burg (1910-1994), mother of the two donor’s, Stan Ver Burg and Theresa Ver Burg Kleis. Henrika worked as a baker for the Hekman Rusk Company in Holland, MI. She lived at 311 West 22nd Street in Holland with her husband Gerrit (1903-1980). Both Henrika and Gerrit are buried in Holland’s Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
