8" x 7½" x 2-3/4"; black shiny woven straw hat with open crown; a turned back black linen rim surrounds the straw; a narrow black velvet bow decorates each side at front - by top of straw; fine black net covers the entire hat and extends down to nose level; no identifying tag; good condition.
History
worn by the donor, Dorothy Sherburne. Doroty and her husband Frank C. Sherburne, Jr. have lived in Holland, MI since 1960. Frank was a mathmatics instructor at Hope College.
