Wedding dress (1994.34.2a), 55" long with 16" long shoulders and a 26" waist. The dress is yellowed with white lace and an eyelet embroidery yoke.
Petticoat (1994.34.2b), 42" long, white muslin, worn under wedding dress.
History
This wedding dress was worn by Maud Marsilje on her wedding day, 3-20-1907, in Holland, MI. She married William J. Westveer.Maud was born in Holland, MI on 3-26-1878. She grew up in Holland, MI, graduating from Holland High in 1887. Her parents were Isaac Marsilje and Jane Keppel.
Maud was a member of 3rd Reformed Church and the Woman's Literary Club. She passed away in 1970.
