Description
Brown wool cap trimmed with beige braid. This item belonged to Hazel Matchinsky while serving in the Womens Army Corp. (WAC) from 1942-1945. Hazel was stationed in London during WWII.

“Hazel Irene Matchinsky, age 94, of Holland, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Heritage Nursing Facility in Zeeland.

Born in Holland, Hazel graduated from Holland Christian High School. Following graduation she enlisted in the U.S. Army and met her husband, Ken, while serving in Paris, France. They would later get married in the American Catheredal in Paris. Together they made their home in Holland. She was longtime member of Central Park Reformed Church where she was involved in many church organizations.”
