Description
Quilt, handmade, consisting of small squares and triangles of older cotton prints and weaves, some obviously faded; backing is a black and white print; some triangles and squares are padded; squares are hand stitched, binding has been machine sown; overall quilting is done in heavy white thread in moderated sized stitches.
History
Quilt comes from the Hiram Fredericks family. They came over on the boat with Van Raalte and lived near Graafschap. The quilt itself, however, did not come over on the boat. It was made years later, ca. 1895.
