Black felt hat; rounded crown with high flared rim, standing up against crown; 4 brass buttons rest at center front (5th button is missing); black 5/8" wide grosgrain ribbon encircles stand-up section; gives a military appearance; ribbons tie under hair in back.
History
This hat belonged to Elizabeth Bareman (1921-1995), daughter of Lucy Steketee and James Bareman (Bareman's Dairy). She graduated from Holland Christian High and the Holland Business School. She worked for many years as a purchasing agent at Hubble Mfg. Co. in Zeeland and at Sligh Furniture in Holland.
